Imaging
- Circumscribed, solid mass within nipple on US/MRI
- Often mammographically occult
- May show hypervascularity on US avid enhancement on MRI
Pathology
- Less discrete proliferation of the nipple epithelium with varying degrees of adenosis, ductal and/or papillary hyperplasia, apocrine or squamous metaplasia, dilated ducts, and keratin cysts
Clinical issues
- Middle-aged women with nipple swelling, erosion, erythema, pain, mass
- Punch or excisional biopsy of nipple for diagnosis
